BLACKPINK: Light up the sky is a short Netflix documentary based on Blackpink that was released on 14th October 2020. The documentary is a bonus for Blackpink fans i.e. blinks as it possesses tons of scenes about their past and gives a deeper insight about how they actually ended up in a group together.
A beneficial feature of the documentary is that anybody can watch it without really having a vivid idea about their background. It is because every member has been given a brief introduction which not only makes you aware about their current status but also tells you about their past.
The documentary is fun to watch for anybody who has interest in K-pop as it is not very long and is significantly engaging. The documentary caters different prospects about their past and also throws light on their past events. Hence, for Blackpink fans it is a great moment of excitement as they get to know more about the members’ trainee days and their lives as human beings instead of pop stars.
Their intimate confessions and loads of hard work have been shown in this documentary which not only harbors their mind wrecking success but also displays their ingenuity. The Kpop industry is very harsh and merciless to trainees which eventually molds them into stars that end up being close to perfect. Blackpink members share their experience and relive those days of hardship and unpredictability, when they never fathomed the possibility of becoming so famous and successful.
I personally enjoyed the documentary a lot as I am a blink but apart from that reason, I also enjoyed it because it is very relaxing. Seeing the girls talk about themselves and share things that have been usually veiled from normal people is quite intriguing.
