Clarity

Writer's picture: Lala RukhLala Rukh

By: Tehniat Fatima Ahmed

There was no clarity in her life. Her childhood had caused her to blur all the boundaries in her mind. She wasn't able to separate love from abuse, happiness from sadness as everything came in a package.

The floor was always staring back at her

Questioning

Judging

Reflecting

And nothing scared her more than her own

The sky frowned down at her

Always a disappointment

Alas, she couldn't stop being herself

Confined

Trapped

In the walls she had built herself

Overtaking herself

Darkness crept in her veins

Tears never failed her

Running in circles

The hurt molded into pleasure

Restlessness was her companion

Help the nemesis

Finishing herself

She smiled at conflict raging inside her

Welcoming the utter pain that accompanied.

Afterall, she was blamed

Wronged

Taught to burn herself

To taste agony as sweetness.
