Trigger Warning: Mention of Drug Abuse

Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, known professionally as XXXTentacion, was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born on January 23rd, 1998 and was assassinated on June 18, 2018. he died at the young age of 20. he lived a life full of chaos and trauma. His music showcased the grief or the sadness from these chaotic and traumatic moments and also some songs talked about his loss of love. It was songs not only that he could understand but also what others could relate to. X(short for xxxtentacion) was a part of another stream of rappers called SoundCloud rappers. The content of SoundCloud rappers had the use of Xanax mentioned and other triggering content too.

He was very different than modern rappers. His platform was not mainly used to promote his own music, he used to talk about how one should love themselves and to focus on oneself and how we should be there for ourselves. And he was positive energy for his fans, he genuinely cared about them a lot and treated them like family. And he made that it was known to be like that when he would focus on them greatly during concerts or whenever they’d meet X in real life he'd be very warm and welcoming. He truly cared about them. He was very open about his pain and grief. He would show is vulnerable side greatly. People related to him deeply as a person and also to his music. He always made sure that everyone felt loved and he was a very outspoken individual. He was never afraid to say what he felt. He had a good heart and was very entertaining. His friends loved him very much and celebrities who hadn’t even talked to him liked him a lot. He had a strong authenticity which does not exist greatly within the entertainment industry.

Before his death, he was not liked by many, even on the day of his death many came forward to show their disapproval of him. They rose from the fact that many accusations were made against him. An accusation was made against him by his girlfriend about his abuse which was brought forward to court but after his death she came forward saying that the claims she made were not true. He beat someone up in jail due to the person having a problematic history, in the sense this person was always moved from one cell to another and he was also gay. When he was moved to X’s cell, due to previous movements from cell to cell, X warned him that if he did anything to him then things would not end well. The man intimidated him at one point by being way too close and so X beat him up in jail. People assumed that he was beaten up because he was gay which was far from the truth.

He lived a sort lived life which was full of misery and grief and would talk about it too and made his fans feel like their pain was valid. He will always be missed. His music helped others relate and words of knowledge helped people be there for themselves more and be there for themselves.
