Passenger

Writer's picture: Lala RukhLala Rukh

By: Emaan Fatima

There once was a passenger

Who came across a rather peculiar place

A place teeming with contradictions

From across time and space

The more she explored it

The stranger it got

How such luxury

Could exist beside such rot

How could this be possible

Her head spun round and round

How could someone witness such a place

And not even make a sound

What she hadn’t realised, however

Is that she hadn’t been there for long

Because if she had looked closer

She’d have found that she was wrong

She’d have seen the inconsistencies

The cracks in the code

She’d have seen the ticking time bomb

Just waiting to explode

The people were rising

They were tired of being controlled

This generation

Was the one from legends foretold
