To all that dare to dream, that have their horizons expanded to visualize every possibility, every daughter and son of this nation stands up against the unfair grading scheme of Cambridge. The examinations of Cambridge May/June 2020 were canceled due to the global pandemic. A policy was devised to give students their expected grades, so they can move on with their lives. However, even with that detail in mind, most have been rewarded outrageous grades.
As the results came out on the 11th of August, most students experienced a state of mild shock before they could comprehend how this would impact their future. Students have had their grades downgraded by 3 or 4 points, not at all representative of what they can actually achieve. Been given random grades, many students and teachers alike have raised in protest that will take place today, 13th August at Press Club F-6/1 Street 38. Many are gathering in hopes that justice and fairness should reach them and that a solution is devised which leaves everyone satisfied.
Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has taken notice, and is in contact with Cambridge, as he stated in a tweet. To look at a precedent, Scotland's government appealed to Cambridge, and they have been promised upgraded grades.
Here's what you can do:
1.Sign petitions!
2.Email/Report!
Email your respective school admins to appeal to these grades.
Email British Council to take up this issue with Cambridge.
Email at uzma.yousuf@cambridgeinternational.org, head of Cambridge in Pakistan.
Report at the Citizen's Portal App so our government can also take notice.
3. Protest!
Show up at today's protest, at the address mentioned above, with relevant slogans and placards. Be careful of a few things though. Make sure your slogans are not offensive to any community in any way. Take snacks, water bottles, masks, and hand sanitizers. Remember the pandemic isn't over yet, and all SOPs are in place.
