Work it is an American jukebox dance comedy film that has been recently released in 2020 and has a cast comprising of famous personalities like Sabrina Carpenter, Jordan Fisher and Liza Koshy. Hence, it is a must-watch movie for all those who dreamt a revolutionary amalgamation of these stars.
This movie celebrates dance culture and speaks an undeniable truth that happiness in life is more lived rather than studied. The movie depicts a high school girl Quinn Ackerman who is obsessed with a prestigious university. Blinded by her ambition, she does all that is required to polish her college resume but when she appears for the interview, her world turns upside down as none of her internships and volunteer work seems to impress her interviewee.
For the sake of securing a mild foothold, she ends up lying about being a member of the famous dance team “Thunderbirds” as she had to show herself as someone who thinks “out of the box”. Her claim brews trouble for her because one, she was terrible at dancing, and two, her disappointing dancing skills could never earn her a position in the thunderbirds.
Eventually, the plot unfolds as she tries to learn how to dance but fails. Her true transformation occurs when she lets herself go and delves into the rhythm itself, discovering that dancing is just a natural response to a stimulus that is music. She realizes that dancing is done when she did it from her heart and not as a task to fulfil her resume.
This movie indirectly tells the audience that life is more about living and indulging yourself in activities that make you feel free from the inside. During this short interval between life and death, man sacrifices everything to earn degrees and admissions which is a good thing. However, while running after your goals, a person should not sacrifice his indulgence in things that provide you internal satisfaction.
Obviously, no one would want to regret living a boring life while lying on his death bed.
