Chicken chilli is mainly served as a sweet, spicy, and slightly sour appetizer made of chicken(duh), bell peppers, garlic, chilli, and soy sauce. There are so many ways this appetizer can be made but this recipe is a special one for me.
Ingredients for fried chicken:
250 grams cubed boneless chicken
1 ½ tsp soy sauce
1 ½ chilli sauce
¼ tsp pepper powder
½ tbs plain flour
½ tbs cornflour
Egg white or water
Chilli powder or paprika to taste
Recipe:
Mix all ingredients together till the chicken is thoroughly coated. If it’s too dry, add more egg white or water but do not make a batter as it will not turn crispy. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry or deep fry the chicken until it’s golden brown. Put it aside.
Ingredients for sauce:
1 tbs soy sauce
¾ tsp vinegar
¾ tsp sugar
½ tsp chilli powder
2 tbs red chilli sauce
2 tbs ketchup
Recipe:
Mix all of them in a small bowl and add 2 to 3 tbs of water to it for thick but pouring consistency.
Ingredients for chicken chilli:
1 ½ tbs oil
2 cloves of finely chopped garlic
1 onion
1 capsicum
Green chillies
Spring onion
Recipe:
Heat oil in a pan and add chopped garlic. Fry it for a minute and then add the chopped vegetables. Fry until they turn slightly tender, They must still keep the crunch. Add the sauce and allow it to bubble. Then add the fried chicken and mix it well. Fry on high flame for a minute till it looks dry. Serve it hot as an appetizer.
